Environmental Tech Lab - NYCDEP Proof of Concept

Excited to see the results from our work with NYC Department of Environmental Protection (NYC DEP) through the Partnership for New York City's Environmental Tech Lab published today!

As part of the program, Bluesonde deployed two real-time water quality monitoring buoys at Newtown Creek, collecting continuous data across five water quality parameters and detecting seven combined sewer overflow events.

Beyond demonstrating the value of high-resolution water quality data, the project identified opportunities for continuous monitoring to reduce manual sampling, lower operational costs, and give operators better real-time insight into changing conditions.

A huge thank you to the NYC DEP Bureau of Wastewater Treatment and the Environmental Tech Lab team for the opportunity to test and refine our technology in one of the largest and most complex wastewater systems in the country.
