UMaine NSPIRE

Congratulations to Northeastern Regional Association of Coastal Ocean Observing Systems (NERACOOS), University of Maine, and the many partners involved in the launch of the National Science Foundation (NSF) Seafood Engine in New England.
Bluesonde is thrilled to build on our ongoing collaboration with the Brady Lab (at UMaine Darling Marine Center) , Maine Aquaculture Innovation Center, NERACOOS, and many other partners to develop and deploy real-time water quality monitoring systems that support aquaculture operations across Maine. This collaboration builds on the Maine Coastal Marine and Climate Fund project, "Building Community-Driven, Accessible Estuarine Water Quality Monitoring to Support Climate Adaptation in Maine," where five Bluesonde monitoring buoys are now deployed across Maine estuaries in partnership with aquaculture farms, a conservation organization, and a tribal community.
Together, we're providing real-time, low-maintenance measurements of temperature, salinity, dissolved oxygen, chlorophyll, turbidity, and more to help growers and coastal communities make better decisions while advancing coastal research. This effort reflects our shared goal of making high-quality environmental data more accessible to the people who depend on it every day.
Congratulations to everyone involved! We're excited to help strengthen New England's seafood industry through innovation and collaboration.
